What is Ace Mentors?

Ace Mentors is a free, real-time online tutoring and mentoring application especially targeted at supporting middle-school students.  Ace Mentors utilizes the Slack platform which allows for team collaboration.  Students download this application for free onto their smart phone or computer.

Ace Mentors is set up in virtual classrooms (called channels on the Slack platform).  Access to each classroom is by email invitation only, ensuring privacy and safety.

Ace Mentors allows students to post text, photos or videos about the work they have questions about.  When a question is posted in one of the virtual classrooms, the Ace Mentor tutors assigned to support that class receive an alert and respond.  It is that easy!

Getting started is easy!  Just send us an email to acementorme@gmail.com and please include your name, school and class (I.e. Sam, Highland Middle School, Ms. Jones).  An invitation to join that Ace Mentor classroom (channel) will be sent back to the email you used.  Simply click on the invitation and you are good to go!

Ace Mentors allows you to get help right from your own home, when you need the help!  It happens to everyone, when you are in class listening to the teacher, you understand what is being taught, but when you get home and start doing the homework or are studying for a test and going over material covered weeks before, you get stuck and need some help understanding the problem.  Parents are great, but they are not always around and sometimes they do not remember how to solve the problem you are working on or they know how to solve the problem using a way that is very different from the way your teacher taught you.  That is where Ace Mentors comes in!  

Will Ace Mentors do homework for me?  No, all Ace Mentor volunteers must sign an agreement which states they will only provide guidance on how to solve the students question(s), but will not give the answers.

What hours are Ace Mentors available? Mentors are available Monday - Friday from 3:30pm - 8:30pm.
